The film About Last Night (the original, no remakes here!) was filmed in the streets and neighborhood parks of Chicago. Rob Lowe and Demi Moore, who played young twenty-somethings unburdened by the stresses of responsible adulthood, would play games of 16-inch softball in near-by parks with friends after work. The movie, based on the play by David Mamet, was written specifically for Chicago. Chicagoans Tim Kazurinsky and Denise DeClue wrote the screenplay, being sure to write in exterior and interior scenes at Chicago’s most famous landmarks, such as Grant Park. The 16-inch softball scene captured what 16-inch softball was all about—camaraderie, the game, and possibly having a few beers afterwards with your friends.
