Over 2500 have voted for 2013 inductees so far

What a remarkable turn out for this year’s 16-Inch Softball Hall Of Fame inductees. Over 2500 people have voted for their favorite and best stars of the most lovable sport in Chicago, 16-Inch softball. With only a few more days left to vote the Chicago 16-Inch Softball Hall of Fame is eager to see the results.

The Hall of Fame will be Celebrating their induction at the 18th annual awards dinner at Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace on Saturday April 26, 2014. For dinner, information visit www.16inchsoftballhof.com/hall-of-fame-dinner/.

 “We are excited to honor and highlight those committed to the game and invite the public to join in the celebration,” said Ron Kubicki, president, Chicago 16-inch Softball Hall of Fame. “The Hall of Fame is the most prestigious honor among the players who have dedicated themselves to the sport. As usual there is a great mix of returning and new names who are worthy of this award.” 

Since its start in 1995, the Chicago 16-inch Softball Hall of Fame has inducted more than 400 former and current softball players, umpires, managers and organizers who have excelled in their sport. In addition to the inductees, special recognition is given to supporters and teams who have made a difference in the sport with their quality of effort/play and longevity. If you would like to participate, visit www.16inchsoftballhof.com/vote. Voters can name up to 16 candidates, please vote for the nominee(s) in the era with which you are familiar. Online voting ends Sunday December 31, 2013 at 6 pm CST.

16″ Softball CPS City Champions

North-side College Prep Championship game

Undefeated in the conference the North-side College Prep beat Lane Tech in the city championship game. With hand warmers in their pockets and at least three layers on the North-side College Prep toughed it out through the cold Chicago weather to be, crowned City Champions on October 23.

The North-side College Prep played two games that day; the first was against Washington in which they came from behind in the bottom of the last inning to win. The championship game score was 7-6 with Lane scoring five of the six in the last inning.  The game was played on the Kroc center at 1250 W 119th St. 

Congratulations to the North-side College Prep for the big win!
