The Graphic Edge started playing in 1979. Led by Hall of Fame Manager John Reglein the squad was created with the best players in not just western Iowa but the entire state. Nine straight Sub State titles in Iowa District 1 transposed into multiple high finishes at Iowa’s ASA State Open. Then domination began with 10 State Championships and over 30 titles in many of the top tournaments in Iowa like the Bud Open and the Dale Lee. The Graphic Edge team qualified for their first Open Nationals in 1986 and then began a terrific run of 14 straight bids to Nationals from 1988 through 2001. Four top 5 finishes at Nationals for The Graphic Edge were highlights. A testament to that appreciation for Chicago 16″ is the fact we were the first ever Iowa team to venture into Chicago and play in the Forest Park No Gloves Nationals. Iowa 16 Inch Softball Hall of Fame boasts 18 of our teammates and Manager Reglein. The team’s longevity, success, and love of this great game is something we took great pride in.
