Steve first played organized 16-inch in grade school league in 1970 for St. Hilary on the Northside. Steve was a pitcher but later played the outfield or infield depending on what the team needed. He developed into a solid pitcher and fielded his position very well. After high school, he played with friends at Mather Park. The team played at Loyola Park where they took the Championship League in 1976. In 1978, he moved to a team at Kelvyn Park and then Eugene Field Park. In 1980, Steve took over the Eugene Field League, where they played for the next 16 years. He also played in leagues and tournaments from the spring to the winter March of Dimes for teams who needed a player, ranging from James Park in Evanston, Oriole, Rand Park, Roselle, Bolingbrook, and Mt.Prospect. Terry Moran Days Tournaments in Rolling Meadows were a regular occurrence as well. After 1995 and having moved to the western suburbs with his family. Steve has played for Mudville in Elk Grove Village in the 60 and older League for the last three years. He loves that his son plays and loves the game.
