Pete Raines

Pete began his 16 inch softball career in the late 1980’s with Fitz’s Gas a southside neighborhood team that battled for a decade with the Ringers winning 5 Kennedy Park championships between 1992 – 1998. He also playing tournaments with the Mudcats, East Siders, Franconello’s, and won ASA “A” National Championship’s with Men From Uncle (1998), Woodpeckers (2006), and Lounge (2010). Pete earned four 1st team All-American awards. For the next 20 years, Pete went on to play major softball with the Bats, Licorice, Paragon and Sage winning Major Nationals, Forest Park and Grant Park all in 2002 with Licorice. Pete has been honored to have played for such great coaches as Bob Russ Sr, Tom “Eggs” Czarnik, Lenny Nuzzo, Danny Coco, Jim Kelly, Paul Rowan and George Kettering. Pete is a sponsor and still active playing in the 50 and over leagues as well as local neighborhood leagues and watching his kids play. He is proud of all the friendships made in the game and surrounding himself with the right teammates.
