GREG ZIEGLER

Greg Ziegler started playing softball at the
age of Seventeen in leagues in Berwyn
and Cicero and played until mid forties.
After meeting his mentor and best friend,
Lane Nieman, he played a bulk of his
career with The Rizza Rockers in leagues
from North Riverside to Mt. Prospect and
won league championships in North
Riverside, Clyde Park, and LaGrange and
tournament titles in the Suburban Life,
Forest Park, Clyde Park, and Hawthorne
Park tournaments. Rizza Rockers won the
Forest Park No-Glove Nationals in 1998
and he was voted tournament MVP and
Finished in the top four in the ASA Major
Nationals four times.
Teams played for Saints, Gamblers, Titans,
Artesians, Come Get Some, Kids, Riddlers
Prior to softball was all state baseball
player in high school and was drafted by
Atlanta Braves as a right handed pitcher
after attending two years of college.
Greg was recognized early in his career
for his strong arm and ability to turn the
double play at short center which he
played his entire career.
Currently He is Field services Manger for
AT&T for the past 22 yrs
Greg Ziegler resides in Joliet Illinois with
his wife Kristen of 32 yrs and kids Jennafer
and Gregory
