Frank is a perfect example of a Daley winner supporting this game. He desired becoming an umpire at a very young age wanting to follow in his brother’s footsteps. He played the game but really enjoyed watching his brother’s style as an umpire and his impact on the game. That’s when he got the urge. Frank started his 52-year career at 21 doing CYO games in 1972 and assigning in 1985. He watched and learned all the finer points of the game from Ron Piper. Frank retired after doing over 8,000 16-inch softball games. Frank officiated all the top A level tournaments throughout the Northern suburbs many with HOF players. His motto “don’t be the game, blend into the game”. He takes blending in the sport’s action and the importance of good communication very serious priority and never taken lightly.
