Kevin started on the sewer covers for bases at 14th and Augusta in Melrose Park at 12 years of age. Ever since then he was in love with hitting a softball…and he hit really far. The DH and Catcher was an elite power hitter. Over 20 years he was a member of some outstanding teams in an era when there were 20 legit loaded teams. Teams including; Bud 45s, ICE, Budrunners, Fusion, Kings, 714, Screwballs and the J-Birds when he earned All-World USSSA honors in 1985. In 1988-89-90 Kevin won the Home Run Derby at Comiskey Park. In ‘88 he beat HOFer’s O’Connor, Lee, Dorskin, and Matrisciano depositing an upper deck shot. He also played for some outstanding 12-inch teams. Kevin played over 150 games a year and he appreciates all the friends he made playing for and against the best, especially Rich Polfus of the Chicago Takers one of the most benevolent men on and off the field he cherishes and a special guy who was an outstanding sponsor and friend, Jimmy Terrance. He loved the game.
