The Bobcats are considered one of if not the best team in 16 Inch softball history. A mixture of power, great hitters and defense. Widely known in softball lore, their era was from 1951 to 1980. Led by Hall of Fame pitcher Ed Zolna they won more events than we have room for…but the key was a record 12 ASA National titles in 64, 65, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 76, 77, 78, 79, and 1980. During that span were also runner ups in 67, 68, and 69. They also won the Forest Park tourney in 74, 76, and 78. Other Hall of Fame stars that played for the Bobcats were Willie Simpson, Al Cech, Mike Moreno, Frank Lentine, Willie Frencl, Ron Olesiak, Bob Garippo, Bob Warnock, Bob Lamont, Joe Gucwa, Ray Topolski, Mike Tallo, Jake Jacobi, Andrew Karkoska, and Steve Postran.
