Tom Neputy

Tom grew up on softball fields in the 1970’s watching his dad, Bob, play. He started playing on his dad’s teams at 18. Tom was then recruited by John Pellegrino, who was putting together the Rebels with the intention of shifting from a neighborhood team to an A/Major contender. As a key member of the Rebels he played in several qualifying leagues, including Hodgkins, Westchester, Blue Island, Worth and Clyde. They won the 1993 ASA and 1999 USSSA “A” State tournaments, and the 1994 and 2001 ASA “A” Nationals. Tom earned the MVP award in the 1994 ASA Nationals win. He was also elected first and second team All-American numerous times. Other notable tournament finishes are 1st place 1998 Grant Park, 2nd place 2000 NSA “A”, 1st place Hawthorne tourney with Luciano’s, two 1st place finishes in the Crush Jimbo’s Classic, 1st place Firecracker Classic in Mt. Greenwood and a 1st place in the Maag Toy Arizona tourney. Tom has played with many competitive teams including Stickmen, Rabbits, Luciano’s/Gamblers, Crush, Jynx, Hype and Roadhouse. Roadhouse took second in the 2006 ASA “A” Nationals and with Hype, won the 2007 Chicagoland Classic in Mount Prospect.
