Ron “Joker” Muller’s 45 years playing 16” softball sum up his passion for the game. He played Short Center, Third Base, Second Base, Short, and First Base and was an adept #2 Hitter. Relying on keen sit-uational skills to make plays, he had exceptional hands with a quick re-lease and soft throws. His career included seasons with Circus, Monsters, Bucks, Bobcats, Silver Streaks and Mt. Prospect (Bobcats) and he was able to play at Clarendon, Kelly, Portage, Blue Island and Mt. Greenwood. From 1979 – 1984, his teams earned trips to USSA Major Tournaments, taking second place in 3 of those years with the Monsters at Mar-shalltown in 1979-80 and with the Bobcats at Harvey in 1984. His Bucks teams also played in South Dakota and Harvey in 1982 and 1983. Along the way, Ron earned many MVP awards: Portage Park 1977; Northshore 1983; Lacrosse 1984; and Northshore All Tournament 1984. Along with those honors were many team wins: 1977 Portage Park champions (Silver Streaks); 1979 Kelly Park League champions (Monsters);1983 Northshore Champions; and 1983 USSSA All World (Bucks). Ron still lives in Chicago and has two children, Alina and Martin.
