Robbie is the Richard J. Daley Award winner for his superb support of our sport and community behind the scenes. His comments follow. I began playing softball at the age of 18 at Dunbar Park, joining a team called the Cobras. Over the next 35 years, I had the privilege of playing with several talented teams, including Grand Theft in 1983, Poison, B-Athletes, and Steel Gold. In my earlier playing days, I spent most of my time in the outfield, but as the years passed, I transitioned to second and third base. For a decade, I played major-level softball with B-Athletes and Steel Gold, competing at a high level and creating lasting memories. The highlight of my softball career came in 2005 when our team, Steel Gold, won the ASA Class A National Championship in Aberdeen, South Dakota — an experience I will never forget. Beyond the field, my professional journey began with a position at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, where I worked as a Market Reporter. Not long after, I ventured into entrepreneurship and founded my own business, A+ Cleaning and Maintenance. This career path not only allowed me to grow professionally but also allowed me to give back to the sport and community that have given me so much. Understanding the importance of community and support, I made it a priority to give back to the softball world through team sponsorships and donations. It’s been an honor to support teams like the Pharaohs and BTA, both of which have gone on to win National Championships. Seeing these teams succeed has been incredibly rewarding, and I take great pride in knowing I’ve played a small part in helping them thrive. Softball has been more than just a sport to me — it’s been a source of friendships, life lessons, and unforgettable moments. I hope to continue supporting teams and players in the softball community, providing opportunities for others to experience the same passion and camaraderie that has enriched my life. He is married to Venus.
