KIRK “CRACKY” HUEHN

Kirk “Cracky” Huehn’s name has become synonymous with excellence, resilience, and longevity in the world of 16-inch softball. A fierce competitor and beloved teammate, Kirk’s career as a pitcher spans nearly four decades beginning in 1986 and continuing strong into 2025 with the the National Champs Chucks. 

Over the years, Kirk has built an extraordinary legacy at the highest levels of the game. He has recorded an impressive 12 top-five finishes at Major National Tournaments, including runner-up honors in 2014 and 2019, and the ultimate achievement—winning the national championship in 1995. His individual prowess has earned him five All-American selections at major national events, reflecting both his consistency and elite- level performance. Within his home state of Iowa, Kirk’s impact has been just as profound. He was named Iowa State Tournament MVP twice, in 1998 and 2001, and received 12 All-State selections throughout his career. In 2022, he added to his long list of achievements with a 3rd place finish at the prestigious Forest Park No Glove Nationals—one of the sport’s most revered tournaments. Known for his tenacity on the field and humility off of it, Kirk has left a lasting mark not only through championships and accolades but also through his leadership, sportsmanship, and love for the game. His induction into the Chicago 16-Inch Softball Hall of Fame is a well-deserved tribute to a lifetime of excellence and dedication to the sport.
