Joseph started playing softball at the age of 17 at Harrison Park in Pilsen. He played in a tavern league and joined the company A.G Becker team for 9 years. On that team there were inductees Dick Cooper and Kenny Flaws. In the early 90’s he played for his nephew’s team called the Creators for just a few years and realized he was getting too old to play. After that he continued watching games and I probably attended 70% of the major tournaments. From St. Louis to Indiana to Iowa. His first ASA major was in 1971 in St. Louis and I went with a friend who worked at Continental Bank. On that team was Bob Campbell and Larry Downes Sr. Now Joseph watches between 100-125 games a year. He just loves the game and has made many new friends throughout the years. Mostly in Iowa where I’ve gone every year for probably the last 35 years. Currently, he supports the SSA and help out with their events. My wife would always tell me, “I needed help” because I went to so many games.
