Howard Blakely

Raised on the south side of Chicago, Howard Blakey’s softball career started as a member of the Masterpiece softball team in the late’70’s. During the 80’s and 90’s he played with the Flamingos, B Athletes and Bandits.

Considered a top infielder in the league, Howard was known for his strong and accurate arm that could hit for power as well as smart situational hitting.  In 1987 and 1988 the Bandits named him MVP. His team won many championships at Washington, Grand Crossing, Hamilton and Ogden parks and in other league on the West and South side of Chicago. Howard was also named All American at the 1999 Nationals in South Bend Indiana.

Howard and His wife, Eleanor, raised five children. They are now proud grandparents and live on the South side of Chicago. Howard is a sim-truck driver for UPS freight and Eleanor is a homemaker.
