FRANK LENTINE

It is with great pride that we present the Presidential Service Award to Frank in recognition of his outstanding support and dedication to the Hall of Fame. As an early inductee Frank’s unwavering commitment, tireless efforts, and generous spirit have played a vital role in preserving and celebrating the legacy of excellence within our softball community. Whether it’s a Saturday afternoon at the museum, instructional sessions with young men and women, umpiring a game, or historical commentary he can always be counted on to engaged Through his invaluable contributions, Frank has helped elevate the Hall of Fame’s mission, ensuring the recognition of individuals who have made a lasting impact. His behind-the-scenes work and steadfast encouragement have inspired others to engage, support, and uphold the values we honor. Frank exemplifies the highest standards of service and citizenship. His dedication stands as a shining example of leadership, humility, and passion for honoring the past while shaping the future. He is indeed a HOF ambassador everyone looks up to. With a softball career spanning 27 years, Frank Lentine has played for such legendary teams as Cherry Lounge, the Jokers, Rogues, and the Bobcats. Although he played all outfield positions, Frank’s favorite position was left field. With a .600 plus batting average, Frank was known as a contact single hitter with exceptional base running skills. His outfield and batting skills earned him most valuable player honors in regional tournaments from 1963 to 1968. Frank was named five times to the All-American National Tournament from 1969 to 1974. In 1972 he was named M.V.P. at the ASA National Tournament in St. Louis. In addition, he was selected to the All-State Tournament team from 1970 – 1972. He has played in every regional ASA Metro tournament from 1960 to 1984. Frank Lentine’s crowning achievement must be winning the National Championship five times from 1969 to 1973 while with the Bobcats and once with the Rogues. He also has coached and umpired baseball, softball, touch football, and basketball. Frank also competed in three National Tournaments in Senior Softball bracket. Frank and his wife, Jeanne, have eight children. He lives on the Northside of Chicago. Congratulations, Frank, and thank you for making a difference.
