DANINE JUSZYNSK

Danine grew up on the Northwest Side of Chicago, where sports were a way of life. From a young age, she could be found competing alongside the boys in the neighborhood, with Hansen Park serving as her second home. It was there that Danine discovered her passion for 16-inch softball, especially excelling on defense at shortstop and third base. In the mid-1980s, she captured her first 16-inch softball championship. At the height of her softball career, she played in as many leagues as possible, often five nights a week while spending weekends competing in tournaments. Throughout the years, Danine had the privilege of playing alongside some of the area’s most talented softball players. Her teams included LiteWeights, LeHigh Wreckers, Red Dog, Lushes, Break-A-Ways, and Chaos. Tiger they celebrated championships at Leigh, Hiawatha, Norridge, Normandy, Indian Road, and Oriole Park. Tournament victories included the St. Jude Tournament, Sue Marohn Tye Dye Classic, Best of Western, Bucks for Burn Camp, Mike Royko Tournament, and YME. The game gave her unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and a lasting connection to the community she loves.
