Bob is the sole reason women’s softball has not died on the Northwest side of Chicago. After three decades, he continues to organize leagues, find parks to host them, and ensure the games have quality umpires. He has personally been involved in every women’s league on the northwest side over the past two decades. He continues to run leagues even though the participation of teams declines. He is willing to organize leagues, fields, equipment, umpires, fees, and prizes, as long as there are women’s teams that will participate in them. He not only organized women’s leagues but also played a vital role in co-ed leagues on the Northwest side. He not only organizes the leagues but also works to get the word out to solicit new teams, trying to keep the sport alive for us NW side ladies. Without Bob, I firmly believe there wouldn’t be women’s 16-inch softball on the NW side any longer. His dedication to running leagues for women and co-eds has been unrivaled on the Northwest side for over 3 decades! His fingerprints are on Indian Road, Oriole, Mayfair, Wilson, and Hiawatha Parks. In leagues that he does not personally run on the NW side, he acts as the ump assignor, i.e., Olympia Park.
