Greg’s 50 year softball career started when he was only 8 years old on the Southside. His father signed up he and his brothers for a startup softball league in Donovan Park…Wallace Softball. He really started to pick up the game in high school playing every opportunity in the Bridgeport/Canaryville area. He eventually joined Mickey Balestri’s Bridgeport Crush in 1987 for a 25-year journey winning countless league championships and a handful of National Championships and a lot of close calls in 2nd. Along with team wins, he also received individual MVPs, All- American and Defensive star awards throughout his outfield career. Later on in his career he played for the Rockers, Jilly’s, Icehouse, Nemesis, March and Flash winning the Forest Park Championship and runner up in a Majors Nationals. Greg loved playing, coaching, running leagues and tournaments, but as he said there is nothing better than sharing his expertise in the sport with his wife and family and the younger generation. Look out for the Young Crush.
