Bob started his playing career in 1981 while still in college in Amundsen Park Industrial League. After college he played locally in Westchester and La Grange from 1982-1987 with Six Pack and the Blues both HOF teams. In 1989, he joined The Saints, which he played for until retirement due to a knee injury prior to the 1997 season. What started as a competitive local team, evolved into a perennial Class A powerhouse, winning leagues and tournaments becoming a top 10 Major team in the Chicago area. During his time with the Saints, Bob led them to ASA Class A National Runner up in both 1989 and 1992 and was 1st Team All American both times. Additionally, they won the 1991 ASA Class A State and 1992 USSSA Class A State, and placed 5th in the 1995 ASA Major Nationals. During the time with Saints Bob was known to be able to cut, hit for power, and average as he played everywhere in the infield except SS. After his playing days he retired as the Saints all-time leader in hits, batting average, on base percentage, and RBI.
