After playing ball in the 80s with Grand Theft and LA Posse and Peacemakers Mo started umpiring in 1998 at Hamilton Park and Washington Park on the Southside and Garfield Park on the Westside of Chicago, and Blue Island. He worked for Umpires INC. (ASA), BASI (NSA) and USSSA. During his 21 year umpiring career Mo was invited to over 60 Major tournaments and Nationals in Westchester, Forest Park, and Clyde Park. He was then invited to start teaching clinics for high school, college, ASA, NSA and USSSA in 2014. He believed in hustling and angle positioning. He also learned that you are only as good as your last game. So, Mo approached each game with knowing how to be prayerful and staying on alert. Mo truly thanks the following mentors Willis Miles, Thornton Lee, Larry “Butch” Danley, Milton James, William “DUB” Hill, Michael Brown, and Brian Panek, that helped enable his skills to flourish on a larger scale. His last game umpiring was in 2019.
