Softball has been in Laura’s blood from birth, she started playing 12 inch at the age of 5 with her mom coaching her. She pitched 12 inch for Richards High School. At 18, she started playing 16 inch with her mom and friends in Chicago Ridge. She was picked up by the Misfits and her “A” ball career took off, playing with the Misfits and Foxes winning leagues and tournaments. While playing in an unlimited arc league in Tinley Park she honed in on her pitching style earning her the nickname “Queen of the Unlimited Arc”. A few years after her children were born, Laura joined the Brat Pack in Oak Lawn, where she continued winning leagues and tournaments, pitching several no hitters, including the championship game at Normandy Park. Throughout the 80’s and 90’s Laura has played 3 to 4 nights a week and also played with the Bidayos, Saints, Blaze, Hangovers, Patio, Loose Cannons, Outcasts, and she continues to play to with High Times in Crestwood, Tinley Park and Co-Ed with Scared Hitless in Oak Lawn.
