Mike Paulo

Mike is one of the true gentleman of the sport. He has coached both men and women’s baseball and softball teams at the youth, high school, college and adult levels for more than 30 years. He started the Saints softball team in 1986 with a group of neighborhood athletes from Hinsdale South High School that were the 1982 IHSA baseball state champs and finished 2nd to Mt. Carmel in football. His leadership and passion for the game turned them into a premier Nationally ranked softball team. After winning many local leagues in the western suburbs they took a step up into the competitive Clyde Park Super “A” league and won the inaugural league title. From 1989 -1995 the Saints were 1989 – Metro champs, ASA nationals – 2nd, 1991 – ASA “A” state – 1st place, 1992 – USSSA “A” state – 1st place, ASA “A” nationals – 2nd, 1993 – USSSA Major – 1st place Gamblers/Saints combo, 1994 – ASA Major – 2nd Old Style Classic to Lettuce and 1995 – ASA Major nationals – 5th place. His Saints have been recognized by the HOF.
